Yesterday, I broke fast with my ex-uni mates. It's been quite a while since we all met up in big group like that... We used to meet up almost everyday for dinner during our post-graduation period. At that time the smallest group of people who came were about 7 people... but yesterday
Roy, Betik, Brother, Hasrul, Skin (Hasrul's gf), Eughek, Anim, Jean, Tini and
I managed to come down to
Madam Kwan's(MK) for the gathering...
Reached KLCC at 6.15, knowing it's still early to go straight to MK, I called up Tini and Meen to find out where they are and whether they have arrived yet. Meen was still in the LRT but luckily Tini's already arrived (Yeay!)and was clothes-hunting in Isetan. I didn't want to go there (MK) on my own. Honestly, I was feeling a bit uncomfortable about meeting up with those other people. I don't know why...
You know how it is... although we still keep in touch via email, it's different when seeing them face-to-face... despite the fact that we've already known each other for almost 2 years plus, there's still a gap...
So, I met up with Tini first and we continued her clothes hunting at PDI. Meen joined us 10 minutes later...
Finally, we went up to MK for the gathering... So, there they were... Brother, Betik, Roy, Fiza, Hasrul and Skin seating at the round table with their food already on the table.
We politely acknowledge each other and personally, I thought there was a brief silence. It felt different esp when the noisiest person in the circle of friends (Faisal) was not there... Nonetheless, we talked.
At first, I noticed the talking was done between those whom are close with each other for example me, tini and meen, betik and azrul, hasrul and skin etc... there were quite a number of personal jokes being told at the table, whispering between among each others... nobody knew how to break the ice, although Eughek did try with me, but, hehehe I couldn't here what she was mumbling... I wasn't focusing. Meen also tried to break the ice with Brother...
And there it was... the album... the engagement album... eughek's engagement album to be precise.... Tini, Meen and I looked at the photos. It was quite a big engagement ceremony. Malays usually hold a simple ceremony for engagent, just amongst the immediate family. We do not want to make such a big fuss about it, just in case the engagement didn't work out, i guess. So anyway.... the
'hantaran' Juan(her fiance) gave was ok looking. His theme color was lavender while Eughek's was orange/yelow... The
rombongan from each side of the family was big... The almost filled the entire house (am I exaggerating?)... Hey Meen, Tini, did we ask Eughek to show us her engagement ring?
Oh, did I mention that the reason we met up that day was also because Brother wanted to distribute his wedding invitation? Yeup, the theme of the day was
"I am getting married soon".
After finished eating our food Brother gave us our card. It was really an interesting card. It was simple yet elegant! The card is three-folded, dark blue and the writings are in silver... short-sighted people might have problem reading them though. heheheheh.... Brother had his and his fiancee's initial printed big at the front of the card. Honest! If I were to get married, I'd pick that one too! And the card is very affordable! 70cents per piece.
Eughek was busy asking questions about the card's where-how-what. The funny part was that Anim looked very interested too! It's ok for Eughek coz she's getting married soon, but Anim ...??? ... hmmm.... we, Skin and I, teased her about it...
"Wah.. Anim... interested nampak? Ada apa-apa ker?" *wink*wink*
"Eh! Apa!?! Mana adala... Anim tanya ja..." Knowing Anim, that is her usuall response to defend her action.
Anim is the quiet type...innocent looking and not to mention
'skema' ... And good at keeping secret, her secret that is... That's why we didn't even know that she had a boyfriend during college. We knew about it accidently through what was meant as a joke...
Me:
"Anim... wah! ko... Hari tu, jalan pegang tangan tak pandang kiri kanan yer masa shopping?"
Anim:
"HAH? ALAMAK! Ye ka? Kenapa aku tak nampak korang?"
BUSTED!!!!
College was fun... for me
lah!
So, back to the gathering.... We hang around MK from 6.30pm to 9pm... guess we did have a lot to talk about!
Seeing that it was Wednesday, Meen, Tini, Jean(she joined us around 8) and I decided to watch a movie. Tini was in her 'horror-flick' mood but there weren't any good seats left, so, 'Uptown Girl' it was...
When we went in the cinema, the movie has already started for about 5 minutes and we had to find our seats in the dark... And I stepped on Meen's foot!
SORRY MEEN!!!!. We had to go pass 4 people to reach our seats but everything went smoothly after that and we enjoyed the show.
I don't like Brittany Murphy. I don't think she's pretty. I think she's a bit on the sloppy and 'tramp'-y side especially in 8 Miles. But her character in Uptown Girl was o-k
lah. The movie itself was entertaining. The part I love most was when
Mark McGrath came up the screen!!!!
*SCREAM* heheheh... The saddest part was when Brittany had to auction her dead father's (rock icon) guitar collection after being cheated by her father's agent. Any scene that involves relationship between a father and daughter always touches me.
That hits near to home...
Well, the movie ended it's going home time... Tini
almost forgotten to send me home..
yes, she did!!!. Arrived home, check up on the kittens and cats. Ate my
sahur. Watch some story on tele. Read a few pages of
Shopaholic Abroad.
By the time I went to sleep it was already 2 a.m.
