I'm baaaackk!!!
It's end of the year but work are piling up! And I'm not sure where to start.
I'll figure that out later... But for the mean time....
eOnline has come out with their pick for 2005 Top 20 Movies and here's what I think of them...
20. Serenity (Universal)
Their Rating : A-
Me : Haven't watch
19. The Squid and the Whale (Samuel Goldwyn Films)
Their Rating : A
Me : Haven't watch
18. Red Eye (DreamWorks)
Their Rating : B+
Me : Decided not to watch simply bcoz I think that guy has weird a-bit-girly-like face.
17. Murderball (ThinkFilm)
Their Rating : A
Me : Haven't watch
16. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Touchstone)
Their Rating : B+
Me : I think it was just so-so for me... but I give an A for the robot though!
15. Wedding Crashers (New Line)
Their Rating : A
Me : Damn funny!!!
14. Munich (Universal)
Their Rating : A-
Me : Haven't watch
13. Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang (Warner Bros.)
Their Rating : B
Me : Have the vcd (pirated, of course, since not yet shown here) but haven't watch
12. Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit (DreamWorks)
Their Rating : A
Me : Watched it at my cousin's place. They all seems to like it. But I didn't manage to concentrate since was busy chasing rainbows with my camera.
11. Millions (Fox Searchlight)
Their Rating : A
Me : Haven't watch
10. The Matador (Weinstein Company)
Their Rating : A
Me : Haven't watch
9. Batman Begins (Warner Bros.)
Their Rating : B+
Me : I'm a bit bias coz I think no one else can play the part of Bruce Wayne/Batman better than Micheal Keaton! Overall, I think the movie is OK...
8. Kung Fu Hustle (Sony Pictures Classics)
Their Rating : A-
Me : Stephen Chow always comes up with wierd, wierd stories, doesn't he? I was turn off by his sometimes gross looking and comic-behaving characters. However, also like his other movies, he won 5 awards in the Chinese equivelant-to-Oscars film festival. And in sort of coincident when I was at my dad's house, I sat down in front of the tv and watch it on AXN. At first I was like "Ergh!" ,"Eww!", "Yuck!". But gradually it turned to "ek'eleh", "hahahah", "muahahahah!". So, in short, I think I'll give it a B+.
7. Pride & Prejudice (Focus Features)
Their Rating : A
Me : Their playing it soon in the cinema, and I've always been a sucker for Jane Austen's work. I'll definitely go and watch it!
6. A History of Violence (New Line)
Their Rating : A-
Me : Uwarrrghhh!!!! I've been trying to find the vcd everywhere that I can think of! But, none of the Apeks have heard of it! How can lah!!! Somebody, anybody, if you happens to know where I can get my hands on it (in KL), let me know A.S.A.P.! I love Viggo Mortensen and I wanna marry him!!!! hahahahha!!! ... no, seriously.
5. Sin City (Dimension Films)
Their Rating : A
Me : How the heck did I manage to watch this limb-cutting, blood-filled, R rated movie to the end! I must have covered my eyes 70% of the time, I guess?
4. March of the Penguins (Warner Independent Pictures)
Their Rating : A-
Me : I watched it last Wednesday. I was looking forward to watching the cute penguin do their march while listening to the soothing sound of Morgan Freeman narrating the entire storyline. So, there I was sitting in the cinema, patiently waiting while they roll the ads. About 15 minutes later, the documentary starts. I knew the film was produced by some Frenchies. The opening song were sang by some lady that sounded a bit like Jewel. All that didn't matter to me. What mattered was that the narrator didn't sound at all like Morgan Freeman, and what's more dissapointing was the fact that the narration was in MANDARIN!!! Biar betul??? arggh!!!! How can this be!!! But, I decided to stay and sit through the movie since the penguin-walk was really cute. Mandarin pun Mandarin lah! But, at the risk of repeating myself, "KENAPAKAH MANDARIN~!!!"
3. The Constant Gardener (Focus Features)
Their Rating : A
Me : Have the vcd (pirated, of course, since not yet shown here) but haven't watch. Come to think of it, like my books collection, there are so many vcds I bought but I haven't had the time to watch!
2. King Kong (Universal)
Their Rating : A-
Me : I wanted to watch it simply because it was Peter Jackson's movie. To me, regardless of any actors cast for the movie, since LOTR's trilogy, as long as it's Directed by him, I'll definitely watch it. As for Kong, I love the setting, love the cinematography, love the actors, the acting, and all that BUT personally, I hate the story. Come to think of it, I've actually hated the King Kong story eversince I watched the 80's version. Lucky PJ didn't decide to remake the scene where Kong bathe the girl in a lake and 'blow-dry' her with his breathe! urgh!!! Even we at times find our own breathe to be stinky, it's a wonder how she managed to stand Kongs!!!
Like my friend said it best, "KK is like Titanic. The storyline itself wasn't that great but it sure got a lot of BUZZ!".
1. Brokeback Mountain (Focus Features)
Their Rating : A
Me : Refer my previous entry... But if they decide to show it here, then I'll be watching it.
And there's another movie which I think eOnline should list as one of their Top 20. "Baik Punya Cilok!!!" . Afdlin's the best!!!

;)

"We are confirming that Brad Pitt is in the process of becoming the adoptive father of both [Angelina's] children," the publicist said in a statement. "No further comment is being made."...According to an exclusive In Touch report, the couple have allegedly drawn up a prenuptial agreement, primarily to benefit the two children, and the two are expected to marry soon.

Meanwhile those who are currently expecting are Geri (ex-Spice Girl), Mariska (of Law & Order), and Gwyneth, again! And read this, when Blythe Dynner (Gwyneth's mom) was asked whether she'll help her daughter to name the second baby, she said
