working 9 to 5.. or rather 9 to 9

i'm still in the office waiting for my aunt to finish her work.
what work you ask? wrapping up gifts for our company's family day lucky draw.

so, what do i do while waiting?
play online games and blogging of course!

meen called just now.
she finally heard the "goyang kepala" song when she was on the bus.
she said she bit her lips so hard from trying to control herself from bursting out laughing.
and alighting the bus, she straight away called me cause it reminded her of me!
thanks, meen! i think?

anyway, we're about to go home in maybe 10 minutes time.

i can't wait to reach home.
my bed. my comfy, comfy bed.
and my pillows!!!!
*SIGH*....

my shoulders are killing me!!!
i think i need to see a doctor about it.

o btw, i went to Pertama Complex for lunch and dropped by a shop selling luggages.
the were some haversack, but they were a bit too pricy for its quality, i think.
but i still need one for my Euro trip. and also need sleeping bag, travelling shoes, torch lights, one winter jacket etc...

oops got to go!

preoccupied

suddenly, today, there are lots of work for me to do...

my fingers are tired from typing, eyes are dry, neck and shoulders are aching and they're all practically killing me!
what i need now are my pillow, bed and duvet!!!

urggh! so tired.... so *yawn* sleepy...

bailamos!!!

ref news attached.

my friend, Sid, bought tickets to enrique's concert for her family. since her husband couldn't make it, yesterday, she had asked me to accompany her and her 6 years old son instead. although i'm not a big fan of the famous "hero" singer (unlike them) and unaware of the concert's cancellation, i said Ok to her all the same. she said the ticket will be on her, that i don't have to pay anything. besides, it would go to waste anyway if i did not follow her. (note : i did offer to pay half of the ticket price, ok?)

actually, i did hear about the issue several days earlier but at the time i did not pay attention. like i said, i'm not a fan and wasn't planning to go. until lunch hour today, when Rini (another colleague who also happens to be an ex-schoolmate) alerted me of the matter. i immediately told Sid and decided to call the online ticket counter's hotline to confirm.

poor her! she was so looking forward to it (eventhough she kept saying it was her son who wanted to go to it badly). well, at least she'll get full refund for the tickets!

ps: received news from Farah Lemau about the sudden remise of one of the lecturers in MCC (teaching English courses), Mr Fauzi. remembered him as the lecturer who always encouraged (and scolded) students to speak more in English on the college ground especially. Al-fatihah...

Iglesias cancels concerts
HONG KONG (AP) -- Enrique Iglesias had to cancel concerts in Hong Kong and Manila after visa problems in Malaysia disrupted his entourage's travel arrangements, a promoter said Friday.
The son of Latin singing legend Julio Iglesias had to scrap parts of his Asian tour when Malaysia was slow to issue required work permits for an appearance in Kuala Lumpur, said Nigel Peters of Midas Promotions in Hong Kong.
The delays made it impossible to ship everything needed for the huge show in all cities where it had been scheduled, Peters said.
"When you're moving 25 tons of equipment and nearly 55 people, you can't just keep changing the schedule," Peters told The Associated Press. "It reached a position where it just wasn't cost-effective for the artist. If it's just a small group and a couple of crates of equipment, it's no problem."
Malaysia eventually approved the paperwork, but it was too late to reinstate the Hong Kong concert, which had been scheduled for April 6, Peters said. Iglesias also has to miss an April 2 concert in Manila, Peters said.
Peters said he lost money promoting the Hong Kong show, but he wouldn't provide figures.
"I guess we're just victims of the circumstances," he said.
A Malaysian Immigration Department spokesman did not answer his telephone when the AP called seeking comment. Another official at the department's Visa Pass and Permit Section declined to comment and refused to give his name.

blog update...

would love to update my blog entry. but i can't right now. my vendor is at my place. no privacy. so, i'll do it later. just a summary though on what i did last weekend:-
1) went to watch dayang nurfaizah's performance in Planet hollywood.
2) went to watch Bintang Hati.
3) went to watch 50 first dates.
4) bought some clothes in East India Company and British India.
5) bought myself a brand new digicam (!).

frustrated!

i am, really...

last monday i changed the layout of my blog. however, the calendar and event's scroller does not appear. I have been trying, since then, to 'debug' the problem. But it's just not happening...

this is how it's supposed to look like.

confused...

yesterday night i went to the atm to withdraw some money...
as usual i'd check my bank balance first. besides, the last time i withdrew money, i knew i only had around rm150 in the bank.

so, when the balance figure came up, i was shocked and a bit confused. i have around rm2k in my bank! what happen? where did all that money came from? did somebody somewhere accidently bank in their money into my account?

i decided not to touch the money and only withdrew the amount i wanted.

by the time i reached home i was still dazed and confused...

about 15 minutes ago, i remembered that a day before the MATTA fair I had taken out some money from my ASB account and deposit them into my bank account, thinking of buying flight ticket at the fair. Unfortunately, it wasn't to be as they did not have promotions for return tickets. Hence, the extra money in my bank account.

Lucky, I did not take it all out and spend it!!!

highly recommended

WENT TO WATCH "ALONG CAME POLLY" WITH TINI AND KAK INA. THE STORY WAS HILLARIOUS! ESPECIALLY THE PART WHERE BEN STILLER DANCED SALSA TO IMPRESS JENNIFER ANISTON. AND THERE'S ONE PUKE FACTOR SCENE, IT TOTALLY GROSSED ME OUT... NOT GONNA TELL YOU WHICH PART IT IS. YOU'VE GOTTA GO AND WATCH IT FOR YOURSELF...

went back home after the movie. at night i watched my two favourite reality shows, "America's next top model season 2"and "queer eye for the straight guy"<- it's just wonderful what this guys can do in one day!

PS: I THINK I'M IN THE MOOD TO CHANGE MY BLOG'S LAYOUT.. YES, AGAIN! I THINK PINK IS JUST NOT ME!

just when you think you know someone

i've had my suspicions. and finally i manage to confirm them.

this species called homosapiens are so unpredictable. in front of you they act so lovey dovey, so nice, so agreeable. at your back, they'd turn all jeckyll-and-hyde towards you (so, ok. maybe i'm exaggerating a bit here). acting just comes naturally.

some percentage of the species are able to create their own 'imaginary world' for them to escape to and might not even realise it. this 'world' are concocted whever they find themselves not getting the attention they need or when they think that the whole real world are against them.

[note : if you're very conservative and hate people with judgemental mentality, just click on the 'X' icon located on your top right hand corner of the screen. No guns being held to your head.]

being a malay, makes things worst. I'm not sure either it's nurture or nature, but we just lurrrvveee to bitch (mengumpat) about people behind their back, kan? i'm not saying i've never mengumpat (I ain't perfect, i know!), but i'm just stating a fact!

the victim? these malay homosapiens (i'm not creative enough to come up with a scientific name for Malays) attack their own kind, regardless whether they are families, relatives, friends, foes... everyone...

one more thing about them, they'd like to 'berkira'. What it means basically is that they'd remember every single CENTS that you owe them and must be repaid. even remind you of all the time they had 'lend-a-helping-hand', and in a way, are asking something in return for that.

maybe I'm wrong but, this is just an opinion of mine. Besides, the races of homosapiens that surrounds me and those of which i have chances to get a close encounter are Malays, Chinese and Indians.

i agree that i need to broaden up my mind. and the only way, at least for me lah, is to travel to other countries more!!!
(i don't actually know how to end this entry..hehehehe...!)

10 things i hate about election 2004

let's do it ala-letterman...

10 - the long queue to wait for your turn to vote is hell (especially if it's hot like you're on the sahara dessert).
9 - one day you're on the oposition parties, the next day no more. the cost? RM 100,000. principles? what principles?
8 - the coalition and oposition parties/supporters bitch about each other. even if their blood relatives!
7 - this is the only time, (O-n-l-y!) they'd entertain your request just to win your vote. in a blink of the eyes.
6 - the parties campaign goes on 24 hours and they make sure you'll here it. even if you're standing 500 metres away!
5 - banner? bunting? flyers? i don't see any. it's really clean around here... NOT!!!
4 - your brothers disappeares, from the time the sun rises until the moon comes up straight above your head, helping with the campaigning. not becoz of the spirit of election but more for the money.
3 - even your youngest brother is involved, waving the party flag at the side of the road, literally hitting any motorcylists or cars driving by.
2 - your parents freaked out coz they never see their sons at home anymore.
1 - you're the punchbag for your parents fury!!!

Barisan Nasional (Coalition)PAS (Opposition)DAP (Opposition)Keadilan (Opposition)

something funny happened on the way...

someone from citibank called regarding my credit card application.

the thing is that they called to confirm whether a person named [put my name here] works there in [put my company's name here] as [put my job position here]. and the person they talked to is ME!!!

she did asked who is on the line. worried that they might want to speak to other person in the department (i don't even know why i'm worried), i told them my name is [put my colleague's name here]...

and that was how the conversation went.

weirdly funny...

it has been such a shitty week!!!

i know somewhere, somehow, someone else is having a much shittier week than i had, but this is my story, and this is my blog!!!

incident (1)
Last friday, i was informed that my friend have given access to my online photo album to someone else without my knowledge. although the third person is someone i know (but i don't like much), i don't think it was right for my friend to do what she did. so, i decided to tell her via email about it. it was a one-liner email. it was nothing really. i just told her some of the pictures are sort of P&C and my other friends and myself sort of have some friction with that person during college.

it so happens that that person is my friend's close friend.

so, on Monday, coming in to work, as usual i'd check my email. and guess what? she had sent me a reply which doesn't contain any "OK", or "Sorry". but instead it was a longer letter (than that i have wrote to her). i was really taken aback! she told me "we're mature and older", "put things behind", "don't hold grudge", "that person has changed a lot and for the better", "next time don't give me access, i might accidently share it with someone else"... WHAT!?! her email was really condescending...

not to lose in the email "war" and to make things worst, i sent her my reply and longer. that was my only reply letter to her... at the end of the letter i wrote "we always fight becoz of something we wrote in the email. or maybe it's just the way i read it was wrong, i don't know. if that's the case, no more emails for me, thank you."

she sent me several more emails trying to explain things and still, somehow in her email she tries to take me on a guilt trip. she did admit it was her fault. but, typical of her, no apologies mentioned anywhere in her mail...

the day after, in the morning, she sms-ed me. admitting her fault (still no "sorry") and said she know she "haven't been a good friend" and she's "the bad one".

in the office, she sent me some more emailssss... she asked me "to read the entire email again, and that if i think it's not worth to continue our friendship, then there's nothing much she can do..."

but, i was still hurt (i can't explain in words why i felt hurt). i needed more time to recover. at least one more day.

maybe, her friendship means so much to me that when she wrote all those things in her email, it somehow made me feel degraded.

on tuesday evening, i was more calm and decided to just forget all that have happened and start fresh. so, i sent her an email. i didn't mention anything about what had happened, i just asked whether we're still on for this saturday's yoga class...

incident (2)
did i mention that my sister still hasn't come home? now, i have...

i had the room all to myself for the last 2 weeks (at least). if you were me, you'd probably think she's not coming home anymore and starts to clean up her things, right? ditto.

but, no. i didn't do it. i don't have the guts to do so as i was afraid that my mom would "scream" at me.

So, anyway... yesterday, i got the urge to wash my clothes and do some cleaning to the room.

i 'relocate' all my sister's clothes from her wardrobe posts to her closet. coz i need to use her posts to hang my clothes. on the floor under the posts, i picked up a dress what seemed to be my mom's. as i was not sure, i went and asked her a simple "is this your dress?".

"yes" and she asked what i was doing. as soon as i answered, she practically exploded! "don't touch her things, she still lives here and she's coming back". i'm so bad for saying this, but i'll be waiting for that day to come.

w-o-w! talk about denial! wait til she listen to all the things i've heard about her "precioussss".

i was angry too. she started 'screaming' at me and just wouldn't stop. and she made all these lame excuses why i can't use the wardrobe posts and all that... she nagged, and nagged. so i told her (actually i raised my voice a bit) "fine, i won't". and she asked me to "Shut up!". gosh!

why can't i use it? she didn't even use it while she was still around. all those clothes hanging at the posts have been there for, what?, a year at least. besides, that's the only thing that i 'touched' and i'm doing a favour for her, right? i'm cleaning up the room.

my mom got so worked up with the idea of me putting my sis's things aside or using them (like i want to lah!). but, my mom did too. not only that, she made up my sister's bed, washes her dirty laundry, clean up her side of the room (even under the bed, which is sooo dirty a monster wouldn't want to hide in it)... she never did that before.

if that's the way it's gonna be, i would want to run away from home too! LOL! ... no, seriously.

i'm thinking, even when she' not around, i'm still living in the shadow of the "prodigal" daughter... this sucks!

well, if i'm gonna move out, i'd do it properly. running away is for cowards. that's not my style. and when i do move out, i'm gonna take all my cats with me. and all the 5 kittens.

looky.. looky what i've found....

hey people!!!!

guess who's blog this is???? it's a no-brainer question.... LOL!!!

nice.....

i was introduced to this brand by my colleague. they have quite nice designs especially for us young people. just to give you an idea of their designs...

THE STRONG WILL NOT SURVIVE: COLBY OUSTED

In a stunning Tribal Council, Colby Donaldson, the 29-year-old All-Star of SURVIVOR: THE AUSTRALIAN OUTBACK from Christoval, Texas, was shocked to hear his name read as the tribe he thought he controlled stabbed him in the back and sent him packing. Viewed as the strongest member of his tribe, Colby proved too great a threat as Mogo Mogo eliminated him in a three to two decision.

Shortly after leaving Tribal Council, Colby concluded, "Ultimately, when your day's up, you've got to be okay with that. You've got to feel good about what you've done."

epf goes online!!!

for malaysians, now you can conduct your business with EPF online!!!

where would you be on 21st March 2004

21st March will be the election day for malaysia.

if you're malaysian, age 21 and above, and have registered with SPR, you're eligible for voting.
to check whether you're one of the voters, you can check at the SPR's website.

and for f1's enthusiasts, 21st march will also be the day for malaysia f1 grand prix, in sepang. the race starts at 2pm. for those who have bought the tickets and is staying near sepang, that would not be a problem. but, for those who lives outside the area...???

so, the question is again, where will you be on 21st march?

namaste...

that's one thing i've learned...

On saturday morning, i went to my first yoga class in tapa's bangsar. we, yann and i, were 5 minutes late. we didn't know the place and had forgotten to print the location map. very clever, aye?

anyway, the class was small with only ten people, including the instructor and the administrative staff.

the instructor is a small, slim, chinese lady. and i could not tell her actual age by looking at her face. you know what people say about yoga right? it keeps people looking young and fresh (i think?).

how was the yoga?
man, for a beginner, it was difficult. the main focus of yoga is to teach you how to balance your body and not to mention flexing your body. they have names for all the movements, and each of them are done at least in a set of twos. i could only do, well, 60-70% of the movements. there's this movement that requires you to stand and sort of cross your left leg on your right and put top of your left foot locked behind your right leg's calf. i watched those who have done it before and they looked like a tree with it's roots twisting around it's bark. in a way it looked scary...

the class took about one hour. by the time we got out, i could feel my body starting to ache. I haven't been exercising for a while. and as a way of getting used to it or maybe fighting it, my body was aching all over on Sunday. especially my thigh muscle. i could not move much. i even had to take a rain-check when tini called to ask me out.

ok, so, maybe it's not actually that bad. i believe if i continue the classes, my body and myself could get a hang of it. and i hope i'll get fitter by the time i'd go to UK.

the cost of studying abroad...

i sympathize with liza... her mom is currently warded in the hospital and will be undergoing an operation for appendix(?). and she only knew about it through her aunt bcoz her mom didn't actually want to tell her or to make her worry...

her mom's in ipoh and liza's in uk and we're in kl. perhaps, kl and ipoh is 2 hours away. but, maybe if god permits, insyaallah, we'll visit her.

liza, dearie,
you can be worried but not too much ok? i'm sure your mom will be up and about in a few days time. concentrate on your study as I'm sure that is what she wants you to do.

updates on the runaway...

or should i say runawayS...

Yeup..!

another person in the house has also follow the footsteps of my sister. who? My mom!!! I know i shouldn't be laughing, but i think it's just funny! i don't why, but this week 'RUNNING-AWAY-FROM-HOME' is just the IN thing to do. It's like the hottest fashion trend this week! hahahah... *sigh*

anyway, about my sister... the day she ran away, she went to stay with her friends in one of the apartments in Sunway. That's where she usually hangs out. If I was her, I would not stay at places where people know I'm gonna go!

my mom found out from one of my sis friends (my mom called her). so, off they went take her home. she decided to come back only after her friend pujuk her. can you spell 'I-JUST-WANT-TO-BE-THE-CENTER-OF-ATTRACTION' ??? mengada-ngada...

nowadays, she wasted the daylight in the room - sleeping. she's like a nocturnal creature and only wakes up to be fed (with food and calls from her boyfriend).

not sure whether my parents had actually discussed with her about her problems. I don't give a damn. nobody seems to care what i think and they'd never take heed anyway. who cares! it's their funeral!

oh, about my mom...
yesterday when i came home from work, my youngest brother told me that my mom had runaway. nobody knows where she went. not even my father. when we try to call, she didn't answer them. i decided not to worry or cry or anything. i know she just needs time to cool off. i think she's just stressed out with us, her children. hehehehe... (i'm bad! i know!). when i was getting ready for work, i took a peek into her room, and she was there, sleeping. maybe she came home after i went to bed....

isn't life weirdly funny??? (is there even such word?)
