Vertigo
by U2

Uno, dos, tres, catorce
(Turn it up loud, captain)

Lights go down
It's dark, the jungle is
Your head can't rule your heart
I'm feeling so much stronger
Than I thought
Your eyes are wide
And though your soul
It can't be bought
Your mind can wander

Hello, hello (¡Hola!)
I'm at a place called Vertigo (¿Dónde está?)
It's everything I wish I didn't know
Except you give me something
I can feel, feel

The night is full of holes
These bullets rip the sky
Of ink with gold
They twinkle as the boys
Play rock and roll
They know that they can't dance
At least they know

I can't stand the beats
I'm asking for the check
The girl with crimson nails
Has Jesus around her neck
Swinging to the music
Swinging to the music

Hello, hello (¡Hola!)
I'm at a place called Vertigo (¿Dónde está?)
It's everything I wish I didn't know
But you give me something
I can feel, feel

(Checking it)
(Shadows fall)
(She'll make it)

All this, all of this can be yours
All of this, all of this can be yours
All this, all of this can be yours
Just give me what I want
And no one gets hurt

Hello, hello (¡Hola!)
We're at a place called Vertigo (¿Dónde está?)
Lights go down, and all I know
Is that you give me something
I can feel your love teaching me how
Your love is teaching me how
How to kneel, kneel

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

ps: too tired from painting the new house last weekend to write today's entry...

1,2 step.. opps!

well, today i realised to do two things at the same time and not giving your full concentration to one task at hand will definitely produce error... and once it's done, it's done.

I wanted to transfer rm300 to a friend's account.

but since her account number's not in there, i decided to pay my phone bill, which i usually pay the amount of rm100 per month.

the phone rang. it was my boss. had to explain some things to her.

at the same time, i continued doing the transaction. clicking and typing away.

by the time i finished the phone conversation and confirming the payment transaction, i realised instead of rm100 i have actually paid rm300 for my bill.

there goes my budget for this month!!!!

urgghh!!!

ps: i'm soo pissed off!!!! my step-sis has taken my RM200 dorothy perkin's jeans and now she's in club med kuantan!!!! b@##&^&#$^(%#$%)#( and she has the nerve to deny it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if anyone of u goes there, could you tell her to return it back to me. Her name's Aily.

pss: tini, can we drop by club med kuantan? i must take back my jeans from her! otherwise, the jeans willl end up e.g. different color, torn, gone... besides, she might be transfered to Phuket soon. double urrghh!!!

charity begins...

at home!!!

so, here are the things sharina listed for us.

ITEMS FOR SU(notice the missing 'e') + TINI

1) Half moon table + matching mirror
2) Yellow stand light
3) Japanese table with glass top & ukiran (3ft by 3ft ~ approx)
4) Cupboard with drawers
5) Side table
6) Abstract carpet - base black
7) Bathroom stuff.

so, why am i putting this into the blog?

no... not to show off!

in case i misplace the paper and/or forget when tini asks me...
;P

nice people befriends nice people

no mood to write any entry lately.

been having headache or possibly migrain since monday. never had it before. dr told it might be i have my neck muscle strained (or is it sprained?).

even skipped jazzercise classes since monday and took an mc from work on tuesday but still managed to go and collect my MyKad at maju junction.

ps: the american idol final 12 girls contestants aren't as good as last years i.e. fantasia, la toya, jennifer, diana. mikalah, whose personality exceeds her singing talent, is one of those who looks interesting apart from nadia and aloha. this years, i guess it'll be one of the guys to win coz the girls are boring. even ryan looked bored yesterday.

pss: just talked to tini on the phone. people are giving us things left and right for our new (rented) house. tables, lamps, china set, mirrors etc. yeay! no need to spend money for furnitures!!! we're so lucky to know these nice...nice people!!!

squeeky kleen...

woke up unusually early on saturday and sunday - if i have no plans, i usually stayed in bed until 3pm. had to! saturday at 10am, went to class first before heading to PJ to clean the house. like tini said it, the house was dirty and in need of minor repairs, which the both of us did that day lah!

around 7pm, we managed to finish up and then headed to the hardware store to buy some paints. by the time we bought them, we were bushed! "every step i take is painful", said tini. as for me, my already aching knees were really killing me!

but, that didn't stop us from coming there again the next day. this time to paint! and we got the favor from jean to help us out! although it is not her place, but she did everything fullheartedly! thanx jean!

by the time we finished 80% of the living room walls were painted with mint green. i purposedly requested tini and jean to leave out the beam and one wall out, so that we could paint it another color. perhaps chocolate brown? dark blue? not sure...

so, next week, another painting session.

but for the meantime, we have to go and buy the plastic carpet and paint for the kitchen walls.

so many things to repair, so little money to spend...

to add to those money we spent on the house, there's also the expenses on servicing the car - RM214 (still owe tini rm100). but still might require some more money since the absorber, the 2 hind tyres and probably the tuning belt need replacement - and soon!

death of a friend

i received sad news yesterday afternoon from my x-schoolmate about a friend of ours, Sharipah Hanim Syed Ahmad, who died in an accident early Wednesday morning.

innalillah!

the three of us used to work together promoting a soft-drink product all over west malaysia. every weekends we'd be spending our time over some supermarkets doing the promotion in the daytime, and at night went out for somekind of entertainment only to come back to rest in some dodgy looking ahbeng-hotel room. by monday, we'd already packed up and journeyed the highway back home.

that was somewhere in 1995-96.

after that, we lost contact of each other although i did hear stories about her i.e. where she works, her marriage, her giving birth to a boy, etc once in a while. everytime i heard about her or walked passed her workplace, i thought to myself "i should go and see her". but never once did i managed to... well, now there's no chance of that now, surely!

to describe what/how she is like, i don't think i'm the appropriate person to do so. people do change over the time. don't misinterprete. she's not a bad person or anything like that. honestly, nobody's perfect.

nevertheless, to die in such horrible circumstances, people (i.e. malays) usually would make assumptions on e.g how the person spent their life. myself not excluded.

after reading the news (
bharian, metro) one thing crossed my mind. what we're they doing going from jln tun razak to bangsar at 4 in the morning, when their home (both of them neighbours) is in Setapak Jaya?

well, what ever it is, all I can wish is

"SEMOGA ALLAH MENCUCURI RAHMAT KE ATAS ROHNYA".

alfatihah!

the car

the victims

ps: isn't it sad to hear someone you know suddenly died?
pss: remembered we all used to call her "Miss Gedik!" (jokingly) because of her perky personality.

shit for thought

music & fashion

i bought Gwen's Love, Angel, Music, Baby album last 2 weeks and had been listening to it in my car, and in the office every so often.

the songs are unlike gwen's, or no doubt's rather, previous albums. i know some of you out there would
disagree with me, but i do think i like this album.

anyway, as i was listening to her songs, some WORDs caught my attention. so, i thought i might google-ed them to find what they're ALL about and why they fascinates gwen a lot (to the extend of influencing her songs and fashion SENSE)!

ps: funny how we're able to learn from so many things i.e. songs

(Gwen Stefani - you like me?)

heck!

i don't know what to write today! let's see...

i did think of something last nite, but as i was about to type, all my thoughts have jumbled up... i have lost my trains of thought.

i don't have much work to do. this year, i only have 2 projects involving system development and the rest of my time, i'm just supporting some systems.

oh yeah, KP (a friend of Rini who happens to work here too) emailed me yesterday. rini had pass some things for me through her. KP asked me to come and collect it since she'll be on leave today.

it's a NEW YORK, NEW YORK tshirt and a hershey's milk chocolate and almond bar. i couldn't help smiling thinking about the souvenirs. you might say "It's only a shirt", but to me it's the thought that counts! hehehe.... i'm gonna wear it to class today! 'season' it a bit with my sweat! ;P

speaking of which, i need to go to class today. i feel fat (or rather fatter, as i am fat) for the past few days. yesterday, i skipped the class to send the cat to the vet again. her bandage came off and my mom had to throw it away as the ants started swarming and biting at it. Pudding were practically 'screaming', coz she couldn't scratch or in fact do anything about it... poor thing...

but, i should be pitied too! coz the vet (the owner of the practice) scolded me! *pout* he treated Pudding last saturday, and he said the bandange, which he said is normally used for humans, should actually last for a week or two at most! he enquired what happened etc. it's not my fault! i was away at work! but i didn't say that, of course. at one point, he spoke to me like as if i don't know what he's talking... he kept repeating "Do you understand?" i just nodded away. that doesn't mean i'm a fool. i'm the kind of person who'd rather avoid conflicts. this friday, i'll be bring pudding for her follow-up treatment.

oh by the way, tomorrow's a public holiday. and so is thursday, and friday. and then the weekends. it'll be quite a long holiday. love it. but there'll be no classes. so, i could either just stay home (and wake up in the afternoon) or go out somewhere.

it's in accordance to the Chinese New Year and the Awal Muharram (Muslim's New Year) celebration. So, to everyone celebrating, here's my best wishes to you!

to all muslims, don't forget to cite the end and new year's prayer!

Ameen...

macam 'bagus'!

This song is the best epitome of my opinion of you...

"You don't know how sick you make me
You make me fuckin' sick to my stomach
Every time I think of you, I puke
You must just not know-

whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa
You may not think you do, but you do
Every time I think of you

I was gonna take the time to sit down

and write you a little poem
But off of the dome

would probably be a little more,
more suitable for this type of song--whoa
I got a million reasons off the top of my head that I could think of
Sixteen bars, this ain't enough to put some ink ta
So fuck it, I'ma start right here by just be brief-a
Bout to rattle off some other reasons ...
"
Puke ; by Eminem

ps: I wish my dream would come true - I'll make you cry like a baby!!!
pss: What makes you think everyone's below you? You like mirrors don't you? Hey, next time you wanna say something bad about people, turn the mirror towards yourself!
pss: NOW BUGGER OFF! COZ to me you're just a whiff of bad smell in the air!

Backstabber
by Eminem

Police voice:
Attention all units, attention all units
We have an All Points Bulletin out on a man with green hair
I repeat, we have an APB on a man with green hair
He's armed with a knife, I repeat, he's armed with a knife
Proceed with caution, watch your back fella's
He could be coming at your girlfriend next

Verse 1:
There's a joker on the loose from the psychiatric ward
His face is up on the bulletin board with a reward
He'll stab you with a sword don't be fooled by his charm
He's probably armed with intent to do bodily harm
Ring the alarm, look for a man with green hair
Check at your girl's house, he was last seen there
He's has a mean stare but usually crack's jokes
Good luck on your mission and guard your backs folks

Chorus:
I make you think you're a best friend then
Why I oughtta
Hit a bitch snake from the back, I make you think you're a best friend then
Why I oughtta
Stay away from him he ain't no good!

Verse 2:
We got the walkie-talkies to keep us all informed
Suited up head to toe in detective uniforms
Our unit storms in, we split the ghetto in sectors
Locking down every block and put up metal detectors
Protectors and be sure that you stand close
Watch each others backs and guard your command post
And most of all be advised that he's wise
He could be disguised as one of your very own guys

Chorus:
I make you think you're a best friend then
Why I oughtta
Hit a bitch snake from the back, I make you think you're a best friend then
Why I oughtta
Stay away from him he ain't no good!

Verse 3:
I'm on a solo mission to find him personally
To settle the score and beat then him mercifully
For what he first did to me
It's sure to be the last
Following footprints with a magnifying glass
To drag his lying ass back to his padded cell
I'm mad as hell, on the trail of the tattle tail
I heard a yell the voice sounded familiar
"Give me your girlfriend or I'm gonna kill ya"

Chorus:
I make you think you're a best friend then
Why I oughtta
Hit a bitch snake from the back, I make you think you're a best friend then
Why I oughtta
Stay away from him he ain't no good!

Verse 4:
I followed the voice that led down a flight of steps
Sneezing at dust, and swinging at the spider-webs
Inside the depths of his basement
I taste lint in my mouth, then the lights in the place… went!
I saw my life flash in front of my eyes
I felt a butcher knife slash at one of my thighs
None of my guys knew where I'm at I was doomed
Then I remembered the flashlight in my costume

Chorus:
I make you think you're a best friend then
Why I oughtta
Hit a bitch snake from the back, I make you think you're a best friend then
Why I oughtta
Stay away from him he ain't no good!

Verse 5:
Dealing with backstabber's there was one thing I learned
They're only powerful when you got your back turned
I yearned for the day that we finally met again
So I can give him a taste of his own medicine
He shed his skin, then he promised to come clean
I took his butcher knife and jabbed it into his spleen
Cut him at the seam then dragged the fella home
Beating him over the head with the telephone

Police voice:
Attention all cars, attention all cars
Unit 313 has apprehended the suspect
He's going back to the crazy home, I repeat
He's going back to the crazy home, how about that?

Chorus:
I make you think you're a best friend then
Why I oughtta
Hit a bitch snake from the back, I make you think you're a best friend then
Why I oughtta
Stay away from him he ain't no good!
I make you think you're a best friend then
Why I oughtta
Hit a bitch snake from the back, I make you think you're a best friend then
Why I oughtta
Stay away from him he ain't no good!
I make you think you're a best friend then
Why I oughtta
Hit a bitch snake from the back, I make you think you're a best friend then
Why I oughtta
Stay away from him he ain't no good!

Sting gives fans in Malaysia a show to remember

Don't mind me...I'm just collecting reviews about Sting's concert. Apparently, I'm still not over it yet!

By MUMTAJ BEGUM

WHEN you are Sting, there is a big question of which songs to include in a live performance. He is, after all, the man responsible for writing and co-writing some of the bigger hits for the 1970s rock outfit, The Police. Then there's also his solo career which started back in 1985 which gave him seven successful studio albums. With such a prolific career, the choices are endless really.

So while the Sacred Love World Tour is, by right, to promote his latest album - Sacred Love - let's face it, Sting fans really want the vintage classics. And Sting does not disappoint.

To the delight of everyone at the Indoor Stadium Putra at Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday night, the backbone of Sting's set featured more of his yesteryear hits than tracks from Sacred Love. What that nearly two-hour blast from the past proved, first and foremost, was that his songs were as youthful as his voice.

Secondly, as far as his fans were concerned, Sting remained the same front man as he once was for The Police years ago. Hence, the sight of him leaping into the air with his bass pressed to his chest actually allowed one to step back in time. (The only thing hindering us from doing just that were the numbered seats and lack of standing room, not that it mattered much in the end.)

Sting in his element at the Indoor Stadium Putra at Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur. - Picture by BRIAN MOH
Nonetheless, the security guards standing at every corner were witness to the audience screaming and dancing especially for songs like Englishman In New York, Brand New Day and Every Little Thing She Does is Magic. The guards even had to exercise some measure of control during the encore when Sting and his crew churned out Desert Rose, If I Ever Lose My Faith In You and the classic Every Breath You Take as some folks tried to get as close to the stage as possible.

The glee on the audience's part began the second the 53-year-old rocker walked on stage with his bass in tow, and fellow musicians right behind.

His first number - Send Your Love, a mesh of middle-eastern and techno music - set the pace for the concert, which he quickly followed up with classic tunes Message In a Bottle and If You Love Somebody Set Them Free.

It was evident that this night belonged to Sting.

Just when one was settling down to a rocking time, he effortlessly switched the pace with tracks like Dead Man's Rope, Fragile and Fields of Gold. His clear, controlled vocals danced confidently across the guitar arrangements on songs like these. Best of all his powerful voice punctuated every word in every song in a very English way, lending each tune passion and conviction.

Fragile - from his third album, Nothing Like the Sun - was written after a 27-year-old American engineer was killed in Nicaragua's war zone in 1987 when he was ambushed by the rebels. The lyrics still ring true, especially today, when war still raged around the world.

To hear this song live has indeed been a great honour and puts to rest any doubts one may have had about Sting not being a sophisticated musician.

While his political views were more apparent earlier in his career with songs like They Dance Alone and Russians, he remained the man who blurs the line that separates a poet from activist and then again from musician. Listen closely to the words for Send Your Love and you hear how this man, who was born in the 1950s, is still promoting love and peace. Not surprisingly, Sacred Love was an album conceived when the United States was getting ready to attack Iraq.

About the only thing that was a dampener on Tuesday was Sting's lack of interaction with the audience, even if this meant more songs for the night.

His first exchange with the crowd saw him speaking in the national language - terima kasih (thank you), selamat petang (good evening), apa khabar semua? (how are you?) and Malaysia Boleh were all crowd pleasers; and then he went on to introduce his very excellent band members.

The band was made up of guitarist Dominic Miller (a respected session guitarist and solo artiste in his own right) Jason Rebello on piano and keyboards, Keith Carlock on drums, Kipper on keyboards, and Rhani Krija on percussion. His equally competent back-up vocalists were Joy Rose and Donna Gardier.

Like a true gentleman and artiste, Sting was ever willing to step away from the spotlight to allow band members to show off their talents. So much so that at the very start of A Thousand Years - the final encore - he remained in the shadows playing his bass guitar on the left side of the stage before taking centre stage.

For the song Whenever I Say Your Name - for which he paired up with Mary J. Blige on the album - he had a duet with Rose at the concert. At one point he gave up his microphone and let her take over the song! So, nobody really minded when this gentleman got a little over-indulgent on Roxanne, reworking the original into a rather lengthy piece.

All said, there was no denying the fact that about 7,000 ardent fans who had turned up in support of Sting were more than pleased with the singer-songwriter-bass player who effortlessly proved that some of the best musicians are still around.

Seawal konsert bermula, Sting yang tampil berpakaian kemas menghiburkan kira-kira 7,000 penonton dengan lagu pertama, Send Your Love, dengan penuh semangat diikuti Message In The Bottle.

Nyata bekas anggota kumpulan The Police yang popular dengan lagu Every Breath You Take, memiliki banyak pengalaman dan bijak mengawal 'mood' penonton. Persembahannya amat lancar dari awal hingga akhir tanpa sebarang kesilapan walaupun kecil.

Lagu English Man In New York membuatkan suasana di Stadium Putra semakin rancak dan gamat apabila penonton berdiri memberikan sorakan dan tepukan malah menyanyi bersama-sama.

Dengan gaya persembahannya yang menghiburkan itu, pasti penonton tidak mampu menduga usia sebenar penyanyi bersuara lantang dan amat popular dengan lagu Dessert Rose itu.

Namun, penyanyi berusia 50an yang bertindak sebagai pemain bass dalam persembahan konsert hampir dua jam itu, tidak ketinggalan menyanyikan lagu hits yang lain seperti Roxanne, Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic, If I Ever Lose My Faith In You dan Fields Of Gold dan lagu terbarunya, Sacred Love.

Antaranya Ning Baizura, Sheila Majid, Johan Nawawi, Afdlin Shauki, Alex Yoong bersama isteri, Arianna Teoh dan pemain tenis, Nicole Anne David.

Sting brings the crowd to life

A STING-ing sensation! That would best describe Sting's Sacred Love Tour concert at the Putra Stadium in Bukit Jalil tonight.
Just before 9pm, Sting came on stage to render Send Your Love, an upbeat number from his latest album.

The 7,000-odd crowd was obviously enthralled by his repertoire, especially the string of hits from his days with the Police.

He delivered Message in a Bottle, Fragile, Dead Man's Rope and House of Winter, among other memorable songs.

Backed by a seven-piece band, the "Englishman in New York" won their hearts further when he uttered a few choice phrases in Bahasa Malaysia: "Terima kasih", "selamat petang" and "apa khabar".

oh, abang sting... continues

yeay! yeay! yeay!

you guessed right! i did go to sting's concert here in KL, and it was magnificent.

from a rating of 10, i'd give 11!!! only that i'd have to deduct 1 point because I didn't bring my camera! urgh!!!

"if i ever lose my faith in you, there'd be nothing else fo me to do..."

sting, or "my ever-so-youthfull boyfriend" as i'd call him *grin*, was, or rather still is, a perfection. is my grammar correct here? don't care!

his voice didn't falter at all... and he looked really calm and collected even when singing his highest notes!

and man! does this 53-year-old rock star looks good - good enough to eat too! - or what? be still my beating heart... *sigh* this is the kind of man i'd wanna look for... he grows handsomer with each passing days...

you sexy sexy man, you!!!

there weren't any fault whatsoever. even the sound system was perfect-o!

i bought the RM130 tickets (bribed my preggy cousin sister to come along) at the last minute (at the stadium). we sat at the 2nd upper level but facing the stage (thank god!). never the one to feel satisfied, i really wished i was among those at the arena, dancing and singing to his every song... if only i had the mullah...

nevertheless, listening to him singing live was a dream came true for me... if only i'd get to meet him in person... *sigh*

Some of the songs he covered in the concert:
Message In A Bottle
If You Love Somebody Set Them Free
Be Still My Beating Heart
Englishman In New York
Fragile
If I Ever Lose My Faith
Fields Of Gold
Shape Of My Heart
A Thousand Years
Desert Rose

Wrapped Around Your Finger
Brand New Day
Send Your Love
Whenever I Say You Name
Sacred Love
Every Breath You Take

before, it was "when will he be coming to kl?". now, "when will he be coming to kl AGAIN?"

ps: saw ida nerina and afdlin (he's fatter and darker) at the stadium...
pss: one of the stalls in the stadium sell mineral water in the 500ml bottle at rm4 each!!!
psss: have you ever heard about that thing about sting's sex life? how he and his wife can go at it for ho-urs bcoz they practices tantric something-something... uuuuhhh... no lah. he said the 'hours' include going shopping, having dinner 'etc'. LOL!!!

A Thousand Years
by Sting

A thousand years, a thousand more
A thousand times a million doors to eternity
I may have lived a thousand lives, a thousand times
An endless turning stairway climbs
To a tower of souls
If it takes another thousand years, a thousand wars,
The towers rise to numberless floors in space
I could shed another million tears, a million breaths,
A million names but only one truth to face

A million roads, a million fears
A million suns, ten million years of uncertainty
I could speak a million lies, a million songs,
A million rights, a million wrongs in this balance of time
But if there was a single truth, a single light
A single thought, a singular touch of grace
Then following this single point, this single flame,
This single haunted memory of your face

I still love you
I still want you
A thousand times the mysteries unfold themselves
Like galaxies in my head

I may be numberless, I may be innocent
I may know many things, I may be ignorant
Or I could ride with kings and conquer many lands
Or win this world at cards and let it slip my hands
I could be cannon food, destroyed a thousand times
Reborn as fortune's child to judge another's crimes
Or wear this pilgrim's cloak, or be a common thief
I've kept this single faith, I have but one belief

I still love you
I still want you
A thousand times the mysteries unfold themselves
Like galaxies in my head
On and on the mysteries unwind themselves
Eternities still unsaid
'Til you love me

Brand New Day
by Sting

How many of you people out there
Been hurt in some kind of love affair?
And how many times did you swear
That you’d never love again?
How many lonely, sleepless nights?
How many lies, how many fights?
And why would you want to
Put yourself through all of that again?

Love is pain I hear you say
Love is a cruel and bitter way of
Paying you back for all the faith you ever had in your brain
How could it be that what you need the most
Can leave you feeling just like a ghost?
You never want to feel so sad and lost again

One day you could be looking
Through an old book in rainy weather
You see a picture of her smiling at you
When you were still together
You could be walking down the street
And who should you chance to meet?
But that same old smile you’ve been thinking of all day?

chorus:
Why don't we turn the clock to zero honey?
I’ll sell the stock we’ll spend all the money
We're starting up a brand new day
Turn the clock all the way back
I wonder if she’ll take me back
I’m thinking in a brand new way
Turn the clock to zero sister
You’ll never know how much I missed her
Starting up a brand new day
Turn the clock to zero boss
The rivers wide we’ll swim across
We're starting up a brand new day

It could happen to you
Just like it happened to me
There is simply no immunity
There's no guarantee
I say love is such a force if you find yourself in it
You need some time for reflection
You say, baby wait a minute, wait a minute
Wait a minute, wait a minute
Wait a minute, wait a minute

chorus:
Turn the clock to zero honey
I’ll sell the stock we’ll spend all the money
We're starting up a brand new day
Turn the clock to zero Mac
I'm begging her to take me back
I’m thinking in a brand new way
Turn the clock to zero boss
The rivers wide we'll swim across
Starting up a brand new day
Turn the clock to zero buddy
Don’t wanna be no fuddy duddy
We're Starting up a brand new day

I’m the rhythm in your tune
I’m the sun and you’re the moon
I’m the bat and you’re the cave
You’re the beach and I’m the wave
I’m the plough and you're the land
You’re the glove and I’m the hand
I’m the train and you’re the station
I’m the flagpole to your nation
I'm the present to your future
You're the wound and I'm the suture
You're the magnet to my pole
I'm the devil in your soul
You're the pupil I'm the teacher
You're the church and I'm the preacher
You're the flower I'm the rain
You're the tunnel I'm the train
Stand up, all you lovers in the world
Stand up and be counted, every boy and every girl
Stand up, all you lovers in the world
We're starting up a brand new day
You're the crop to my rotation
You're the sum of my equation
I'm the answer to your question
If you follow my suggestion
We could turn this ship around
And go up instead of down
You're the pan and I'm the handle
You're the flame and I'm the candle
Stand up, all you lovers in the world
Stand up and be counted, every boy and every girl
Stand up, all you lovers in the world
Starting up a brand new day
