Remember about the LOTR marathon I told you last time? yesterday, i've just realized that i have another event that i can't escape from on th 19th. After going through it all several times, this is what i came up with....

7.45 pm - Friend's Brother's Wedding
9.00 pm - Change clothes/Rush to LOTR Movie Marathon

One thing I am worried about; falling asleep during the movie marathon!!!!

The world premiere of the final Lord of the Rings film attracted up to 100,000 people to the streets of the New Zealand capital Wellington on Monday.

late for the hundreth times...

I was late again to work today... I kept having this problem eversince I started taking a ride with my aunt to work... I know... I could have make the effort of going to work on my own, but you see, the thing is that the duration of time I take coming to work on my own (public transportation) is longer than the time I come with my aunt, and more hassle too!

But, again, I have been coming to office late for only God knows how many times!!!!

In August (I think) I was called in by my BIG boss and was given a bit of an 'advice' (if you know what I mean!). At the time, I came late 15 times in AUGUST itself!!! Boss told me that I would be under 'surveillance' for the next several months and that I should make an effort to come in early or change my Flexi time to a later shift.... 'under surveillance'... I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry...

I managed to reduce the number (to 7) the following months...

In my workplace, we have a system (website) that displays what time the staff comes in or out of the office. It also provide reports on latecomers, early leavers, who's on leave/ having course somewhere etc... It made it much easier for the Administrative staff but difficult for the rest...

Luckily, once in a while the system has its 'OFF' day... hey, not everything's perfect, especially if its human-made.... so, occasionally you'll have your name reported as a latecomer when in fact everyone knows that you're the first to arrive to the office...

So, today I was late because my aunt overslept. I thought she'd forgotten to pick me. Being a 'less-than-perfect' employee I called my boss and asked for 'time-off'... of course I didn't tell her the actual excuse! I'm not that stupid!

Something interesting for today...

Open for business

I start work today.. after taking one whole week off... I'm not really feeling well, since Thursday... I'm having headache, back-ache, running nose, sorethroat, and my eyes, nose and inner-ears are so itchy (wish I could just reach in there and - scratch!) ... even the food that goes into my mouth tastes wierd...

This morning, I woke up wishing that I don't have to go to work... heck! I wish I don't have to work at all!

But then again, we always wish for things like that, you know what I mean?

If we're a student, we wished we don't have to study and instead, we wish that we are already working and making lots (TONNES actually!) of money!
If we're working, we wished that we are not. Instead we hope to go back during to our school days when things were more fun and we couldn't care less for anything, everything!

*YAWN!*

This morning, I had to drag myself to getoff the bed and go to work...

So, what about Raya?

Well, it was normal... as usual... we did our normal first-day-of-Hari-Raya-routine...
wake up - dress up - ask for forgiveness from each family member (I didn't actually salam my parents coz I was angry with my mom for not lending me any of her scarf) - visit Kubur - have breakfast at my aunt's house - visits my step-grandparents house - visits my (biological) father's house - do some shopping (Carrefour was opened) - go home - watch TV...

There was the usual ang-pow-giving (this year I felt obliged to give), kuih raya, ketupat, rendang, ayam roast and all... But all in all, I guess I have lost that Raya-spirit ... and for the first time ever, I have no collection of Raya Angpows at all this year! tsk! tsk!

That is why Raya is best celebrated when you're 20 and younger!
