Online file convertor

this is not a sponsored entry. but, i do think it deserve some mention.
besides, this is what is known as "knowledge sharing".

for these past few months, i have been downloading and converting youTube videos and other files using Zamzar Convertor.

since the file conversions can be done via its website, i find it definitely handy and i don't actually have to install the convertor unto my laptop. (begging the question!)

all these while, how i did it is:-
  1. just upload the file or provide the URL of the e.g. videos that i want,
  2. select the file format to which i want to convert,
  3. enter my email address
  4. and click the 'cONVERT' button.
  5. a few minutes later, you'll receive an email containing the link of of my successfully converted file.
easy-peasy!

easier still, whenever i am on any website containing the video of my interest, i just click on my zamzar bookmark button on my toolbar, it will capture the video's URL for me. it reduces the number of click-through.
"If you are on a video sharing website such as YouTube or Google Video you can click the Zamzar button to convert and save the video you are watching. On any other website if you click the button Zamzar will auto-detect if any of the files on the page can be converted and highlight them on that page for you - you can then click a button to convert them."
- on how to use the Zamzar web browser button.
oh. did i mention that it is FREE?

however, as a non-paying user, there are limitations. some of them are:-
  1. i only have 24 hours window (after receiving their email) to download the converted files
  2. one file can only goes up to 100MB
  3. only 5 concurrent file conversions
  4. and although they say conversion priority is given to the paying customer first, but as to date, most of the time, i got the files about within 5-10 minutes timeframe.
but, no complaints from me.

conversion is not only limited to video files. there are several other file types that they can convert for you.

rather than have me misleading you, why not check out the website yourselves (or read the FAQs) and give it a try.

you'll be 'zamzar'-ed for sure!

ps: up to today, i have converted about 50 video files, to say the least!

PayPerPost - Finally! Yeay!!!

I first heard of PayPerPost from Cik Tinn, I think about 3 months back or so.
She told me that someone actually made a living just by blogging about the opportunities presented in PayPerPost.
She herself did communicate with PayPerPost and asked several questions to satisfy her curiosity.
A few days later, she signed up and her blog was approved in less than a week.

I, on the other hand, was a bit sceptical at first.
The idea of getting paid for blogging about something sounded a bit ridiculous to me.
And how much money does one can make just by doing so!
I decided to wait and see...
One should never dismiss an idea straightaway, rite?

In her blog several weeks ago, she mentioned that she has received her first payment from PayPerPost.
That's definitely my cue to register and I did.

Registration is easy.
Key in your details, add in your blog, add in your credit cards details, click to agree on the T&C, and press submit.
Voila! C'est tout!

The approval is a bit difficult.
That is if your blog:-
1) does not have any posting for the past 20 days
2) can't be indexed by Google

That was why my blog was rejected a couple of times by PayPerPost.
But, I didn't give up!
I tried again and again, until today.

FINALLY! "Your blog has been approved!"

So now, I can get paid for what I love to do and what's more they pay in USD$!!!
KA-CHINGGG!!!!
mUAHAHAHAHAHhahHahAHH!

well, not to say that I don't love my job...

Anyway, now that my blog's been approved, I've start to think what I'll do with the money, when and if I get them.
So, here's a list of what I've thought of up til now:-
1) Clear off my credit card debts
2) Buy that SLR I've been dying for since only God knows when!
3) Save some for any of my upcoming trip
4) Spend some, invest some!

But, I agree with Cik Tinn.
One thing good about signing up with PayPerPost and getting paid for blogging, is that I can sure use it for clearing off the debts!!!

Apart from Cik Tinn, there's also another person who've signed up. Guess the trend is really catching up huh?

So, what ARE you guys waiting for?
PayPerPost is perhaps of of the EASIEST MONEY one can ever dream of!

Sign up with PayPerPost.NOW!!!

More memory, more space

my cousin and i went to LowYat yesterday. i decided to buy an external hard disc to store all my personal files that are currently residing in my office's notebook.

there were so many shops to buy from. i couldn't decide. and we only had several hours before they closes. we stopped at several near the escalator but too many people. the shop that we bought the items from is located further inside and was less crowded, so more personal attention! heheheh...

tried to look for SEAGATE but it seems that most of the vendors have ran out of it. instead, i bought HITACHI 120GB SATA with a COOLERMASTER USB2.0 casing. all in all RM310. ok lah kot....

am not sure whether it's good enough but i bought it based on my colleague's recommendation.

alang-alang i was in LowYat, i did think of recceeing for SLRs. but again, limited time and we were already tired. so, maybe one of these days, i'm gonna go there again (hopefully with the money to buy), take my own sweet time and finally buy it (preferably, cheap!) !
